All-Round Cooperation Between APACER and "Popular Photography "
The goal of the first stage of promoting the "Disc Steno " in China is establishing product image for Apacer in the photography industry. Apacer frequently attends activities hosted by "Chinese Photographers Associations " in February and March. Apacer gets zealous responses from customers during the activities.
Spring Festival Sodality for Sponsoring Photography Industry
Site: The Great Hall of the People in Beijing
Time: February 3
In an established strategy of promoting the portable "Disc Steno", Apacer Electronics will implement the first phase of a plan to focus on trademark image establishment in the photography industry. Thus, all-round cooperation with "Popular Photography" is the best way for us to achieve this established strategy.

Shortly after the new year of the lunar calendar, we held a Spring Festival Sodality for Sponsoring the "Chinese Photographers Association" in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

More than 2,000 photographers gathered together. We provided CP100 as the award through lottery drawing, which gained favorable comments. Award winners were greatly satisfied by its easy operation and safe storage, while the losers were in despair for missing the opportunity. CP100 therefore acquired the praiseworthy name of "most considerate award" that night.

After the sodality, many CP100 winners communicated with us by telephone. One of them was Mr. Huang Qikun, a photographer, who was willing to write down his feelings of convenience, easiness and safety when using the CP100. His article has been published in various photography magazines (Mr. Huang Qikun is an influential photographer and has obtained many photography prizes. He is also a guest copywriter for many photography magazines).

This activity has established a primary trademark image in the photography industry. Among the award winners, Mr. Liu Xiaolin, who is working for the Beijing office of Jebsen & Co. Ltd. (Agent of Casio Camera in China), was willing to become our distributor for the sake of a promising market, after using the CP100. So this activity also offered us a potential customer.

Furthermore, the February periodical of "Popular Photography" published a news report on the Spring Festival Sodality for sponsoring "Chinese Photographers Association" (with mention of our CP100 as "the most considerate award"), as well as brief introduction of the CP100. We have received a lot of telephone calls inquiring about the "Disc Steno"; most of them have been from middle-aged and older people, as we expected. Mr. Cheng Xiaozhong, a senior photographer from Suzhou, had a special interest in the CP200. He made many phone calls for inquiries and decided to buy the CP200 after receiving the information we mailed to him. Since he was going to Anhwei and Jiangxi for outdoor photography with associates from the Photographers Association of Suzhou, he came to Shanghai by train to purchase the CP200. What a great guy!

Exchange Activity: "Popular Photography" and Photographers Association of Tianjin
Site: Tianjin
Time: March 5 – March 6
Apacer Electronics participated in a photographical exchange hosted by "Popular Photography" and the Photographers Association of Tianjin on March 5 - March 6. There we introduced the background of our company, the latest product (with the CP200 especially), and provided Apacer digital cameras as awards. Our products appealed to participating photographers greatly, especially some of the senior photographers who wanted to buy them on the spot (I will send you photos later since the mail has limited capacity). Apacer Electronics gained much experience through this activity, as follows:

1. It is beyond our expectation that people over the age of 40 account for a major proportion of photography fans.

2. We have underestimated for middle-aged over 40 of their receptivity and desire for novel things. The CP200 attracted many photography fans who are unable to use a computer, by its characteristics of "separate from a computer, record by one key" and "operate by remote control". This is very helpful to us for amending and strengthening future propaganda direction and sales strategies.

3. Further understanding of the Photographers Associations in other places. These Photographer Associations are actually quasi-governmental, and their presidents and vise presidents are local "big names" with great influence. Therefore, it is beneficial to promote our "Disc Steno" by launching more activities jointly with local Photographers Associations.

Background of "Popular Photography"
"Popular Photography" was sponsored and founded by the "Chinese Photographers Association" (a quasi-governmental organization chaired by the vice president of CPPCC, the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference) in 1958. It is the earliest professional magazine with the most readership and influence in the main land of China. Besides its business of magazine issuance, it holds photography exchanges and photography competitions throughout the country. It founded the Photography Gallery and camera museum in Beijing. With over 5,000 fixed members, its influence is second to none in the photography industry.
