Apacer Technology introduces a new JEDEC-compliant DDRII-800 memory module that has passed the ATI Radeon Xpress200 QVL. The single-sided DDRII-800 from Apacer is configured with eight 32M x 8 (256Mbit) dies and is currently available in densities of 256MB and 512MB, with higher capacity modules coming soon.
Fully compatible with Intel 945/955 chipset-based motherboards, Apacer’s new DDR2-800 module brings a higher level of performance and efficiency to customers that demand the most from their systems. The DDRII-800 memory module from Apacer adopts a lower voltage design at 1.8V, which is much lower than previous generation DDR memory modules at 2.5V. Moreover, as they operate at a lower voltage, better heat management is maintained even when they are running at greater speeds. The FBGA packaging utilized also helps to lower power consumption and reduce die temperatures. Lastly, ODT (on-die termination) technology is used to minimize signal feedback, thus also increasing performance. For performance gains in speed and signal quality with reduced power consumption, Apacer’s DDR2-800 module will meet the needs of normal users and gamers alike. |
According to Memory Director Grace Lo of Apacer, following Intel’s introduction of the new 955X and 945 chipset series, relevant hardware specifications will be changed. It is foreseeable that due to the change in the time sequence support of DDRII memory modules and the progress in the manufacture of DDRII memory chips, manufacturers will introduce DDRII memory modules with high speed sequence to fulfill the requirement of 800MHz or even higher more easily. |
