Apacer's USB-Disk Module (UDM II) is a high performance, embedded SSD and can be plugged into a standard embedded USB connector commonly found in desktops, portable PC systems and industrial PC systems.
The UDM II is compact in size and varies in vertical, horizontal, and low profile dimensions, which are designed for configurations adopted in industrial, embedded, and commercial computers. Among them, Type D LP, because of its even smaller size, is specifically designed for 1U (U=44.45mm) server platforms. With read /write speeds of up to 30MB/s and 20MB/s, the UDM II is based on SLC flash memory and is offered in capacities from 256MB to 8GB.
Good for both code and data storage, UDM II supports Linux, Windows CE, Windows XP Embedded Operation System, Windows XP Professional, Windows Embedded for Point of Service, and is further enhanced for use with ReadyBoostTM. It also delivers many benefits of solid state drives (SSD), including shock and vibration resistance, durability, energy-saving, dynamic wear-leveling algorithms that substantially increase the longevity of flash media, support for extended temperatures (-40°C to 85°C), and built-in 4-bit EDC (Error Detection Code) / ECC (Error Correction Coding) to ensure reliability.
The UDM II has undergone strict qualification to guarantee product dependability, reliability, and longevity, and has a mean time between failures (MTBF) of two million hours.
